I felt a couple little flutters in my belly the last couple of days!!! The first time I felt it I was sitting in bed knitting (a baby blanket, of course) and watching tv. Then I felt it again the next day while I was at the movies on Sunday. I haven't felt it since but I guess it is normal not to feel it everyday in the beginning. The baby is most active when I am not so I would probably be feeling it the most in the middle of the night. The feeling is very strange and it almost tickles. The best I can describe it is as a flutter or a very minor muscle twitch.
My belly is getting rounder by the day. After a full plate of spaghetti I look like I am six months pregnant. I wonder if other women's bellies get progressively larger through out the day as mine does. I will have to ask some of my pregnant friends that.
Along with my growing belly I am feeling weird aches and pains I have never felt. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that my organs are slowing being displaced and pushed aside. Lately I have been getting up THREE times in the middle of the night to pee!!! AHHH! I believe that this is my body's way of preparing me for middle of the night feedings.
I have had to temporarily give up yoga. I have been getting low back pain after my classes and have decided to err on the side of cautiousness. I am really bummed because I love it so much and I know that it is really good for me. I am looking in to alternatives now like doing private lessons to see if I can avoid aggravating my back. But for now I am sticking to the boring old elliptical and treadmill. Thank God it will be getting warm enough to go for walks outside.
At this point the baby can hear my voice and loud outside noises. I try to sing to it a lot. I know I can't carry a tune to save my life, but it doesn't know that yet. Ha ha. My favorite songs to sing lately have been Guns n' Roses and Dolly Parton. I guess I am a little bit country and a little bit rock n' roll.
