I waited all my life for you...

We have a sleeper on our hands. Not only has Oliver been letting Mommy and Daddy sleep the whole night through, but he's letting us sleep-in come mornings. Although, we are crossing our fingers that the last couple of nights and mornings are not flukes. Something though tells me he's settling in as an 8 month old!!
I enjoyed getting up at 1,2, or 3am to feed him, it was a fun time for us actually. He would start by crying lightly, then when I would be in the Kitchen getting his bottle ready, I would get a cup of hot water to get the bottle worm, he would hear the water turn on through the wall he shares with the Kitchen, and he would know I was on the way. Once I got to his room, I would say hello, and he would stop crying, and at times would giggle, as if he was thinking YES, fooood!!!
Oliver has learned how to wave his hands hello, and goodbye. When we go out, he's waving at everyone, sometimes both hands waving getting peoples attention It's a long weekend, and I'm really excited not only to sleep the whole night through, but to also spend the time with little O. Oliver's swim classes have come to an end, so I think we might take the drive up to my parents place, so Oliver can take a dip in the pool.

The ocean is your blanket..

It's been a few weeks since we posted last. Lets start by a mention to Megan's first mothers day. Megan's first mothers day really put it in prospective for me. I don't think I could have ever dreamed of a better mother for our little O. I certainly knew back 9 years ago that there was something special w/ her. Now that Oliver is in our lives, I'm very lucky, and inspired by Megan's love and passion for this little lover we call Oliver.. Oliver got Megan a nice long massage, and a few hours to herself on Mothers day...
We have been going to the park every chance we get now that the weather has given us an opportunity to play outside. We're hoping in the next week or so we can do our first picnic. An exciting development that we're crossing our fingers will be something lasting, is that Oliver might be working himself in to a full nights sleep, where I don't need to get up at 1 or 2 or 3am and feed him a bottle. I really don't mind getting up that early do do a feeding, it's actually fun to see him then, but I think both of us would rather sleep..
Oliver will be turning 8 months this week. He's learned to wave hello, and actually say hi. Megan and I are thinking O might leap frog crawling, and go right to walking. He tires to pull himself up every chance he gets on just about everything.

Weeeeeee --- Weeeeee....

Our garden
The weather has been nice enough to allow us to get in the sun a bit and visit the play park for the first time. Oliver had his first ride in a swing, he loved the ride, and the feeling of swinging. He also went down the slide with Megan, he loved doing that too. We're in the very close stages of Oliver crawling, he's rocking back and forth as though he's had an idea that he can be mobile on his own. I think with in the next couple of weeks, he'll be crawling everywhere.. It kind of reminds me of when I got my drivers license, that raw feeling of freedom. When we're sitting down for what-ever reason, Oliver will try and leap out of our arms and go for what ever he has his sights on, may it be Tuna, a toy on the floor, or the urge to just go!! Big O is also learning how to pull himself up while sitting down in his crib.
