Easter Festivities

We had a very fun but untraditional Easter a couple of weeks ago. I normally have a traditional Easter brunch at my place every year for friends and family. This year, however, pretty much everyone we knew was either out of town or already had plans. So we decided to do things a little different. We started off our day with Oliver running into our room, spotting his Easter basket and saying "what's that?". Good thing I put mostly toys and not candy in it. Then we got a last minute invitation to go to the aquarium with our friends the Mackins. It was a lot of fun and the first time that Oliver was actually into seeing the different type of fish. Then we came home, took a nap (a rarity around here) and Oliver went down to visit with his cousin Romen with his Mimi and check out his Easter basket. Oliver returned with a chocolate moustache, lemonade on his pants and a gumball in his stomach. Now I know what happens when Mom isn't around! We ended our day with dinner out at a Chinese restaurant with the Mackins.

Here are some photos from the weekend before when we went to Egg-stravaganza at Soldiers Field. It was freezing, but we had a great time.
